Friday 13th December 2019 saw the SDA Shetland Open Doubles take place in the Northen Lights function room, Brae with 22 pairs entering on the night, following the early rounds which produced some close games the quarter finals saw Ramsay Hogg & James McNab bt Gary Devaney & Willum Gray 4-2, Roger Irvine & John Philip Sandison bt Colin Tulloch & Gareth MacRitchie 4-1, Calum Irvine & Clive Burgess bt Stuart Paul & Barry Couper 4-2. The final quarter final saw Scott Williamson & James Haa bt Clive Scott & Craig Smith 4-2.

The semi finals were played over the best of 9 legs and saw last years winners James & Scott progress to the final again this year with a 5-4 victory over Calum & Clive. The second semifinal saw John Philip and Roger join Scott & James in the final with a 5-0 win over Ramsay & James.

A high quality final saw James and Scott race into a 4-0 before Roger & John Philip levelled the match and went on to win the next 2 legs to emerge 6-4 winners and win the Shetland Doubles title.

During the nights play 180's were recorded from Neal Redfern x2, Scott Williamson x 2, John Philip Sandison x2, & James Hall.

High Checkouts were recorded from James Hall 144 & 126, Stuart Paul 115, Roger Irvine 108, Scott Williamson 100.
