Saturday saw the SDA Open Doubles take place n the northern Lights Function room at the Brae Hotel with 22 pairings entering on the day. After the early round the Quarter finals in the top half of the draw saw James Hall & Scott Williamson bt Clive Scott & Craig Smith 4-3, Roger Irvine & John Philip Sandison defeat Alan Patterson & Brian Patterson 4-2. The remaining quarter finals in the lower half of the draw saw Gareth MacRitchie & Colin Tulloch defeat Stuart Paul & Barry Couper 4-0 and Liam Sutherland & David John Anderson bt Gareth Pottinger & Vic Young 4-2.
The semi finals were again played over the best of 9 legs which saw James Hall & Scott Williamson progress through to the final with a close 5-4 victory over Roger Irvine & John Philip Sandison, The second semi final saw Liam Sutherland & David John Anderson defeat Gareth MacRitchie & Colin Tulloch 5-3. The Final was played over the best of 11 legs and saw James & Scott emerge as 6-2 winners over Liam & David John to claim the Shetland Doubles Trophy for the first time.

During the Days play 180’s were recorded from Vic Young x2, Clive Scott, Scott Williamson x 2, Gareth MacRitchie, Liam Sutherland x2, High checkouts were recorded from Ramsay Hogg 104, Scott Williamson 116, and James Hall 108.
