RBL Singles Winner recieves Winners Shield from Legion representative Jimmy Robertson.

Saturday saw the RBL Singles Shield take place in the Lerwick legion with 51 Men entering the 2nd last Grand Prix of the season. After the early rounds produced some close games the quarter finals saw Liam Sutherland beat Ramsay Hogg 4-1; Roger Irvine beat Barry Couper in a close match 4-3, Philip Mowat beat Colin Tulloch 4-1 and Neal Redfern defeated Ian Hannah 4-2.

The semi Finals were played over the best of 9 legs and saw Liam Sutherland progress through to final with a 5-1 victory over Roger Irvine, whilst the second semi final saw Neal Redfern beat Philip Mowat 5-2 to progress through to the final.

The final was played over the best of 11 legs and saw Neal Redfern claim the opening leg before Liam opened up a 3-1 lead. Neal pulled a leg back in the following leg, checking out in 15 darts to reduce the score to 3-2. Liam extended his lead in the next leg checking out in 16 darts to move 4-2 ahead, before moving further ahead in the next to go 5-2 up. Neal again reduced Liam’s advantage before claimed victory in the following leg by taking out an impressive 128 finish and claim the RBL Singles shield.
