1st &2nd Division Singles winner Michael Pottinger, SDA President Alasdair Harmsworth & Runner-up Clive Burgess
Last Friday saw the 1st & 2nd Division Singles take place in the Lerwick Legion with 24 taking part in a round competition consisting of 4 boards of 6 players with the top 2 players progressing on the quarterfinals.
The Quarter finals were played over the best of 5 legs and saw Michael Pottinger beat Nigel Williamson 3-0, Clive Burgess bt Andrew Burgess 3-0, Stuart Kay defeated Shaun MacKenzie 3-0 and the final quarter -final saw Tommy Williamson beat John Brian Adamson 3-0.
The Semi-finals were again played over the best of 5 leg and saw Clive Burgess and Michael Pottinger progress through to the final with 3-0 victories over Tommy Williamson and Stuart Kay.
The final saw a close game in the best of 7 leg final with Michael Pottinger emerging the winner to claim the 1st & 2nd Division Singles shield with a 4-2 victory.
