Saturday night saw the annual Hay &co darts Shield take place in the Lerwick Legion which saw 37 players enter a handicap Singles style competition which saw Intercounty start from 701, all other Men start from 601 and ladies start from 501.

After some close game in the early rounds the quarter finals sawBarry Couper bt Jim Wood , Andrew Swannie bt Craig Main, Michael Pottinger got past Steven Hughson and finally Neal Redfern defeat Clive Scott.

The semi finals saw the last remaining Intercounty player Barry Couper bt Andrew Swannie to reach the final where he was joined by Neal Redfern progressed through after beating Michael Pottinger.

In a close final which was played over the best of 5 legs it was Neal who emerged as a 3-0 winner to claim the Hay and Co Shield.

The Ladies final saw Melanie Couper defeat Theresa Wadley by 3 legs to 0 to claim the ladies prize after both had progressed the furthest through the main draw.

The Men’s highest checkout prize went to Barry Couper who checked out a 130 finish and the ladies winner was Rose Tulloch who finished 50.

The charity board winner was Andrew Swannie who won the charity board hitting the most double 3’s in 9 darts.
