Shetland Open Singles winner recieves the Shetland Singles Trophy from SDA President Alasdair Harmsworth (centre) whilst runner up Liam Sutherland (right) looks on.

Friday 6th December 2019saw the SDA Shetland Open Singles Grand Prix take place in the Lerwick Legion with 45 players entering on the night. The early rounds were played over the best of 5 leg up until the quarter finals which produced some close games.

The quarter finals saw Liam Sutherland bt Marc Henry 4-2, Willum Gray bt Gareth MacRitchie 4-2, Roger Irvine defeat Stuart Paul 4-1 and Neal Redfern bt Clive Burgess 4-2.

The semi finals were played ovwr the best of 9 legs and saw Liam progress through to his 3rd final of the season with a 5-1 victory over Willum, the second semi final saw Neal edge past Roger 5-4 in a close game. The final was played over tge best of 11 legs and saw Neal run out a 6-1 winner ro claim the Shetland Singles title.

During the nights play High checkouts were recorded from Craig Smith 109, Marc Henry 120,107, Arnold Brown 102, Gareth MacRitchie 145, 104, Stuart Paul 125, Liam Sutherland 120, 114, Willum Gray 116, Neal Redfern 116, 108.

180's were recorded from Roger Irvine x 6, Neal Redfern x 6, Robbie Goudie, Shaun MacKenzie, Barry Couper, Marc Henry, Stuart Paul, Liam Sutherland.
