The last Grand Prix “The SDA Open Doubles” of the first half of the season took place on Friday 15th of December in the Northern Lights Bar at the Brae Hotel. A healthy turnout of 29 pairings battled it out in the first, with some high-quality darts being played throughout which saw some strong pairings exit the competition before the quarter final stages including the previous years winners.

As the evening progressed the quarter finals saw Ciaran Christie & Craig Thomson bt Roger Irvine & George MacKay 4-1, Sandwick pairing Craig Smith & Kevin Wiseman defeat Clive Scott & Marc Henry 4-0, David John Anderson & Liam Sutherland bt Scott Johnson & Craig Main 4-2 and the final Quarter final saw Danny Irvine & Adam Manson bt Gareth MacRitchie & Stuart Paul 4-0.

The semi finals were played over the best of 9 legs and produced 2 very close games with both games going to a final leg decider. The first semi-final saw Craig Smith & Kevin Wiseman reach the final with a victory over Ciaran Christie & Craig Thomson. David John Anderson & Liam Sutherland joined them in he final after a victory over Danny Irvine & Adam Manson.

The final was played over the best of 11. The Sandwick Arrows duo of Kevin & Craig continued to show the form they had produced during the night to emerge 6-2 winners over a strongLiam & David John pairing to lift the Shetland Doubles for the first time.
