The last Grand Prix to take place before the Christmas break was the SDA Shetland Doubles which took place in the Northern lights Function Room of the Brae Hotel. An excellent turnout of 31 pairings (62 players) entered on the night and after some very close games in the early rounds, which also produced some upsets the quarterfinals saw Gareth Pottinger & Victor Young bt Ramsay Hogg & Clive Scott 4-2, Gareth MacRitchie & Stuart Paul bt Roger Irvine & George MacKay 4-0, John Robert Scott & George Smith Jnr bt Colin Tulloch & Paul Bell. The final quarter final saw Tingwall Arnold Brown & Alan Herriot bt Anthony Shearer and John Phillip Sandison by 4 legs to 2. The first semi final between Gareth Pottinger & Victor Young and Postie's player’s Stuart Paul and Gareth MacRitchie saw Gareth & Stuart emerge 5-1 winner to reach the final.

The second semi final between Alan & Arnold and George & John Robert was a much closer match with the game going to the final leg which saw Alan & Arnold emerge 5-4 winners. This match also saw the highest checkout of the season being hit by George Smith Jnr with a 170.

In the best of 11 legs final the match began with Gareth & Stuart taking a 4-0 lead before Arnold and Arnold with some heavy scoring and clinical finishing levelled the match at 4 legs all. Arnold and Alan then took the next leg to go lead 5-4 for the first time before Stuart levelled the match to force a deciding leg. In a close deciding leg which saw all 4 player have an attempt at the double it was Arnold who stepped up to hit the winning double to secure the SDA doubles title for the Tingwall players.

On the night there were 180s recorded from Gareth MacRitchie, Ciaran Christie, and Craig Main & Arnold Brown x2.
