The following Grand Prix Rules are correct for the 2019/2020 Shetland Darts Association season.

The table below gives a list of the tournaments included in the grand prix setup it also lists the points available for each round.

1. Grand Prix events taking place on Friday evenings & Saturday afternoons will see registration open until 1/2 an hour before the event is due to start. Any Player not registered in this time will be refused entry to the event.

2. All games during a Grand Prix event will be played over the best of 5 legs in the early rounds, the number of legs will be increased during the competition on the basis of time remaining in the evening

3. Grand Prix Events will see a seeding system in play. The First Grand Prix will see the top 8 players from the previous years Ranking points be allocated a seeding. From there after the seedings for the following Grand Prix events will be allocated to the top 8 players in the Intercounty Points list prior to each of the Grand Prixes that are to take place during the year.

4.Results from the Previous Grand Prix event will be used to separate players tied on the same number of points to determine their appropriate ranking. Should a seeded player not enter the event each player in the ranking table below him will promoted 1 position in the seedings table. ie should seeding Number 6 not enter seeding Number 7 will now become seeding Number 6 and seeding Number 8 will now become seeding no 7, and so on.

5. Any Grand Prix event which has “bye or several “byes” in the first round will see the “bye” or “byes” placed randomly throughout the draw

6. Grand Prix draws are drawn using the "Darts fro Windows" program. The traditional pen and paper method will be available as back up in event of computer malfunction.

7. Should any grand prix singles/doubles events have less than 32 players entering no player will receive points unless they win a match in the round of 16.

8. Only players registered with the Association will be eligible to receive the points listed in the above table.

9.Once all seven grand prix are finished the top 8 will automatically be picked for the Inter County team. The intercounty captain will then select 4 wild cards to fill the remaining 4 places in the team. Along with his 2 selections to fill the Reserve places.

10. If 1 or more players should tie for 8th place then a playoff will be held to determine the final automatic qualification place to take place at time and place agreed on by the committee and ALL players involved
